Today, the Hörmann Group is managed by the third and fourth Hörmann generation, the grandson and great-grandsons of company founder August Hörmann. Thomas J. Hörmann, Martin J. Hörmann and Christoph Hörmann are personally liable partners.
Hörmann (UK) Ltd. - a wholly owned subsidiary of Hörmann KG
First established in 1979 from a small industrial unit in Leicester. Hörmann UK's continual growth meant that in 1993 we moved to new premises at Whetstone in Leicester.
In 2000, due to increased growth, we moved into purpose built offices at our current location in Coalville, Leicestershire, giving us a footprint of 8000 square metres.
In 2006 we built on remaining land, adding a further 3800 square metres of assembly/warehouse space and 200 square metres of office space. Providing a total building footprint of 12,000 square metres.
Innovative products
The foundation for today’s company was laid in the 1950s with the industrial production of a new type of garage door: the up-and-over garage door. In the 1960s, space-saving, vertically opening sectional doors for garages, as well as for industrial and commercial buildings, initiated a future-oriented development. Since then, the product range has been extended systematically. Today, in addition to the well-known classics, the product range also includes rolling shutters, sliding and high-speed doors, entrance and internal doors, frames, door operators, fire-rated and smoke-tight door assemblies, loading technology systems as well as automatic sliding door and perimeter protection systems.
International growth
The Hörmann Group is an internationally-oriented, fast-growing company in the construction supplier industry. Doors, hinged doors, frames, operators and perimeter protection as well as storage space systems are manufactured for the markets in Europe, North America and Asia at 40 highly specialised factories. We are present in over 100 individual sales locations in more than 40 countries and represented by partner companies in over 50 other countries. Employing more than 6000 staff, this 100% family-owned company has achieved over 1 billion euros in sales.
