About Us

The Garage Door Centre was launched in 1986 by Nathan Dove with his father, Brian in response to demand. They were working on electronic gates and the clients needed automation for their existing garage doors; this quickly shifted as the demand rose, to full projects to be managed, including bespoke, RAL of choice, garage doors with specific designs, with and without removal and disposal of the old door and frame, through to fully automated, framed and high specification installations, to include security, insulation, timber creations, and assisting the client in finding the best match for their home, or their clients’ home. This meant that expansion was on the cards, in every decade, from the 80s in the millennium, right up to today.

For The Garage Door Centre this means that taking the client around a diverse showroom, provides an answer. Centrally located in the UK, each day we host customers who have either chosen their product and want to see it in action, or need to see how they all work. Every type of gear and model is available to see here, along with samples and expert advice.

Here we provide the full service, from initial enquiry, through estimate, survey, advice, showroom viewing, through to installation and full, professional handover. Our Expert Installation Engineers are all certified to enter commercial sites, and we are pleased to be able to benefit from the Distributor training that is offered to us all at the Hormann Academy.
